2008 VTX overheating

I had some trouble winterizing last year where the temperature was climbing too high. I replaced the thermostat and the impeller this spring and when I run it it still continues to run hot. Any ideas what else the issue could be?

Does it have a engine oil cooler and / or trans cooler? If the impeller ever came apart

the parts usually end up clogging them and restricting fresh cooling water flow.

here is a picture of mine after the dealer said they checked everything out.

Exactly what Blowncoupe said.  I clean mine out regularly due to river we ride in. Shop vac helps alot.  My 08 has no intake strainer filter either. Ya have to keep em clean.
