Surfgate Buzzer

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure that the buzzer that sounds when you switch Surfgate from one side to the other has gone out.  Now when I turn the power on to the boat, the buzzer is on non-stop.  From speaking with a couple folks, I am under the impression that the ONLY use for that buzzer is to signal surfers that the gate is going to change sides if they are trying to do a wake transfer.  Ours has never been loud enough to hear it from behind the boat while under way.

So, my question is, can anyone confirm that is the only use of the buzzer?  If so, I'm wondering if it is even worth replacing....

Same thing happened on the 2014 VLX I had. I disconnected the wire to the buzzer which did not seem to affect any other systems. I had the boat in for some other work and was told the surf module was failing. Constant buzzer my be an early sign of the module going, can't say for sure though.
