2000 Malibu Sportster Overheating

Recommended Posts

Over the weekend I replaced the thermostat and housing gaskets, took the boat for a drive. After running briefly a barefootin speeds the temperature jumped to 220+. Pulled back quickly, then replaced the impellor. That went well but still got the same temperature spike on my test drive. Any ideas on what may be going on and what I should investigate next? Is it time to go to the mechanic?  Thanks

Check for debris on the inlet side of the transmission cooler, verify all hose clamps are tight and no air leaks on inlet side of raw water pump.
