2004 wakesetter lsv 23 “BAD” code on speedometer

Recommended Posts

Hi Crew

I have a 2004 Wakesetter 23LSV and recently the speedo reads “BAD” when I turn the key to crank the engine.

The “BAD” remains for a few seconds/minute then goes away.

I can’t find anything in the manual that addresses that “error code” if that’s what it is but I don’t like seeing the word BAD displayed anywhere on my dashboard.

thanks in advance for any guidance

My '03 registers "bad" when the depth is less than 2 feet or just doesn't register.

If you have an analog gauge with a digital display you should be able to toggle that display - hours, water temp, depth.

It usually happens when I stop the engine after a ski or surf session to switch riders then when I crank it back up I get the “BAD” code.

typically in deep water. I use the toggle for depth, temp etc just fine

i think this is something else- I’m thinking oil pressure perhaps

I will pay extra close attention the next time it happens!

maybe I’m in shallow water after all!

thanks Crew

Or maybe your boat is asking you to play a Michael jackson song.

Ok- so I’m on 20 feet of water- clear from any debri or weeds

Startkng engine I get “BAD” then it clashes to “OIL P” then switched to the depth of the water and the error or bad and oil p go away

oil p at idle is 30psi at idle about 600rpm

But i toggled the Dually frl

depth to temp and tried turning boat off and on again and the BAD did not display.

seems to only display when it is on depth

somewhat concerning then it goes fromBAD to Oil P tho...
