Maliview screen blank - help needed

Recommended Posts

I bought a used 2011 vlx t last year and the previous owner had put in an after market screen in place of the maliview screen. I can’t get the screen to turn on. I have a new 10 button maliview display on the way, but the more I’ve messed with it the more I think it’s wiring. Unfortunately, since the previous owner put in an POS after market screen I’m unsure of the correct wiring that I should be looking for. Also, the ten buttons work and change the stereo settings.

1. I’ve seen people mention two blue video cables. I see those two cables plugged into two video in slots of the blue viper box under dash, but those two cords go off to the front behind the sub. is that correct?

2. There is a yellow rca video cord in a video out slot that goes up to the back of the screen which plugs into a female connector that lead into a black cord that goes into the actual screen unit. Is that how it should be?

ultimately just looking for how the setup is supposed to be so I can make sure everything is wired correctly.

Any help or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Is that even possible??

Lol I guess so. It’s an “lcd touch screen headrest monitor”

Its touchscreen as well. Last year when powering the boat on a screen would pop up and say “dvd” and “tv” I press “dvd” and it goes to the normal Home Screen for Mali view and everything functioned just fine. Now I can intermittently get the screen on, but no functions work. I am hoping the new Malibu original screen is the fix, but was just looking for help on what the correct (original) wiring looked like

OK - that is weird.  It must mean the signal coming from the black/blue box is standard.  Might help those suffering from failed Malibu touchscreens.  Yours is the first that I've heard of though.

The bottom right screen can’t be replaced with aftermarket. It’s the top screen that I’m referring to.

Yeah that's pretty cool.  Post up some pics.  My 2013 went through three screens in 6 years.

Unfortunately it’s not the bottom right screen I’m referring to. I literally just replaced the bottom right screen myself. My original post is referring to the top (ten button) screen. I guess that one can be aftermarket
