2006 23 LSV Cruise will not engage

Recommended Posts

Any tips on trying to get my cruise to engage? Paddle wheel seems to work since speed is right but the cruise control will not engage and over ride speed.

Thanks in advance,

When you press the red button on the info center to turn on the speed control do you get the actual speed, set speed, overshoot indicator bar, and the current throttle position dot on the display?

Some 2006 Malibu boats had a Perfect Pass controller and Malibu shows it in their harness drawings.  That was also the first year Indmar used an electric throttle body and the MEFI5a.  Models with the PP controller had a harness plug that used the same paddle wheel input as the miniMMDC gauge controller and would send a status and control signal on the CAN buss to override the ECM speed control so it could control the speed instead.   I have seen a loose Intel chip on the board inside the PP controller cause speed control issues that were fixed just by pushing on the chip.  If it does not have the PP controller then there may be an issue with the Info center, miniMMDC, wiring, or connectors going to them.

No luck on Finding a PP controller, I did take the mini MMDC down and look inside of it and everything looked fine and then i went over all the connections and everything checked out. I am stumped on what else to do besides replacing things or trying to go with something like nautic laugic and switch to gps controlled.
