2018 25 LSV Steering Question

I just picked up a 2018 25 LSV and was able to play around with it on the lake.  While at higher speeds (over about 30 mph) with one passenger and no ballast, I noticed the steering had an odd sensation.  It seemed to get a little squirrelly.  It seemed to track pretty straight, but certainly didn’t feel tight.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Adjust the trim tab on the rudder so that you have a slight pull to the right while at speed (move the tab to the right when looking at it from the back of the boat).  The consequence is that you can't take your hand off of the wheel, but that is a good thing.  If you don't have the preload, the rudder will hunt in the prop wash and give you that squirrelly feel.
