Have a 2001 23 LSV with a manual wedge. 1st wake board boat for me. Dumb question, but is there a max speed for when the wedge is deployed?

RTFM.  It says, "Excessive speeds over 30 MPH could cause adverse handling conditions. It is recommended that you put the Wedge unit in the UP position if you will be traveling over these speeds."

More compelling is taking a good look at your wedge to make sure that it is in good condition.  The original two-screw models apparently had a bit less strength than the later three-screw ones.  If you have an older one, make sure that the screws holding the foil onto the arms are fully tight and that the foil cannot move against the arms.

Actually make sure and check those screw after every trip and possibly during the day if you can. If/When one breaks you are just one away from a bent or lost wedge.
