Power Wedge Calibration?

Recommended Posts

2007 Wakesetter VLX 21'

I can't figure out how to calibrate my power wedge.

With PW in full down position....

I go to: > Service > Setup >Power Wedge

.... and the only options in that screen are "PW Present" or "PW N/A". Neither one leads to another screen.

Any help is much appreciated! ......... If I go over 15 mph I get an alarm and warning that the power wedge is down - but its fully up.

PW gauge will not move from all the way down when I move it up. It definitely goes up and down though.

I am pretty sure the 2007 does not have a position sensor on the wedge.  From what I have read it says to cycle the wedge all the way up and down several times and that should resync the gage and if that does not work to reset the Viper box to factory settings and try cycling the wedge again.  You might try disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes before the reset.

Mine is a 2010 and is one of the few years they used a sensor.  That is not necessarily a good thing as I have heard the sensor is no longer available.  I was luck to find what may have been the last one in existence last summer.  Fingers crossed this sensor lasts longer than I have the boat.  I have rebuilt my actuators about 3 times now.

If the power wedge uses a Lenco controller the controller sends the position to the display by counting "lobes" inside the electric actuator.  Models that do not have a lenco controller use an external position sensor on the wedge bracket.
