2022 Swim Step changes?

Recommended Posts

My 23 LSV order got pushed to MY 2022 production and since we have to re-enter the order I thought I'd add the fold down swim step but my dealer says they don't have pricing because it's changing?  Has anyone heard of changes to the fold down swim step?

This is the dumbest and most offensive boat option I have ever heard of.

Thanks for the education.  Anything else you'd like to offer?

Did he mean that the step is changing, or just the price?  He may just not know prices yet.

Power swim step seems unnecessary, but I don’t currently have one.. So my kids aren’t forgetting to put it up when getting back in the boat

It's evolution, Check out the more upscale (Non tow boats) boats around. You're gonna start seeing more and more luxury built into these boats. The boats perform great now. Where are they gonna get price increasing options from a different wedge or surf gate. You can bet it will come from luxury options already out there

What would be awesome is if it could be used as an additional wake shaping or running surface device...

My point is that it is getting hard to get important replacement gizmos for these boats (example is the $2000 touchscreen I have to buy).  What are the chances that some of these options will stick around long enough that there is a part supply for them in the years to come - for the people who don't buy new boats every couple of years.

So I'm looking at it from the secondary market perspective

I can hardly wait to see the sticker price on a power swim step.

I called Jack.  It's 5K.

No @Ronnie.   @oldjeep is 100% correct.  Its crap.

Instead of trying to figure out ridiculous ways to justify price increases every year, Malibu should be improving their QC (from what I have heard).

Yes, please!

I’m hearing of a Power folding step controlled from the transom.

Already here. We ordered one on an M220.

Looks like another actuator to replace in 5 years when the warranty is over.

What was msrp?  5k wasn't it?

$2295 is what I have from late last year (not the power one, just the old manual style)

Wow... only takes 60 seconds to get it down :-O.  The only thing I would find useful (and maybe Malibu would implement this) us a warning on the dash that the step is down.. and then the ability to raise it from the helm.

Exactly what I was thinking some kind of sensor to tell you it's down or up before taking off.

A powered one like this could bring you to the helm and keep you on the water longer in retirement
