Love for the older boats

the 08 is the first year of that generation of hull, which went through 2013.  It would definitely surf, especially listed.  The 08 in particular had a "one and done" pre-maliview dash design that a lot of folks don't like.  It was also a super weird production year because the economy crashed and the actual number of boats produced is pretty small in comparison to later years.

If the deal were right it's a great boat.  I'd look for one with the 8.1 big block for a surf monster.

Also the first year for shift by wire (electric) throttle vs prior Morse cable throttle.  I believe they had a recall in 08-09 and most were replaced.  I actually looked at a 08 last year that still had original and needed replaced.

Thought this thread would be the right place to post some more old boat love. After 22 years still going strong. Video.

Both of these old boats have done me well over the years.  Sorry for the different picture sizes.  The 1997 SSLX is no longer in the fleet.  I sold it to buy the 2006 RLXi.  It's likely that I'll have that RLXi for several more years.  Classic lines, amazing boat to ski behind, and it runs exceptionally well.  In the coming years, I'll be removing the carpet, redoing the vinyl (previous owner had some tears, etc.), and adding decadence type flooring.

There is just something about the lines of a true ski boat. They are like a sports car, low and sleek...a piece of art. These new wakeboard boats will never look as good.

Great point.  I do think the new wake boats are super sexy.  Particularly the traditional bow wake boats.  But I completely agree with you about true ski boat lines.  There is nothing that looks as good as those, regardless of the manufacturer.  There is one caveat to that.  The new Ski Nautique looks low, but doesn't have that performance sports car appearance.  It looks like a mini G series boat.  I know it's an amazing performer, but it just lacks the look.  The prostar is the best looking modern ski boat IMO.  The Nautique 200 is also a very attractive boat and it also performs very well.

How does the 08 LSV compare to the older boats in terms of simplicity and DIY serviceability?   Love my boat but could use some more room.   Really like the looks of the modern windshield but have no desire for a boat I can’t wrench on.    Was thinking of picking one up for winter to do another refurb and make a super deluxe surf boat.

I have an 08 LSV.  I think it was early production because my windshield supports are not like the brochure style, so maybe some 07 holdovers.  Has been a solid boat.  Simple dash. Depth gage erratic and defaults to 400'.  There is probably a fix, just need to do it. I like the clean and simple lines.  We don't have graphics or a tower.
