GPM requirement for 410 monsoon 6.2l

Recommended Posts

i want to make a mobile flush out setup but do not want to starve the engine of water for cooling. there seems to be very little info on the monsoon 410 online, anyone know how many gpm the engine needs? would i need pressure or if theres a tube connected to a water source would that be sufficient?

Most garden hoses provide plenty of water for flushing an engine.  The pump is the same as other engines, so it shouldn't really matter.  You really only need to idle to flush anyway.

I have run mine at 3,000 RPM for 10 minutes at a time without any issues.  Of course, this is in neutral with no load, but the hose wasn't sucked flat and the engine didn't overheat.  Before anybody asks why, I wanted to stress test the cooling system a little bit after I converted to an aftermarket closed cooling system, but before I put it in the water for a real test.

In my opinion, your flush kit should include a stainless Marpac 7-0418 fitting on the transom so you don't have to drape a garden hose over the gunwhale to connect it.
