Power Button Failure?

Recommended Posts

Hey Crew,

Has anyone had their power button fail, I have a 2015 Response and it seems to be giving me trouble. Bad connection.

Thanks

Used to be a lot of threads like this.  So much so that I keep a spare I bought on amazon in the glove compartment.

Thank you, I guess I missed these threads!

The very first trip on the water in our 2021 23 MXZ resulted in a power switch "glitch" that would not shut the motor off. A quick fix was to do a hard shut down, turn the battery off and wait 15 - 20 seconds, turn batteries back on, power on electronics, then start. Similar to resetting a PC.

Looks like I have the power switch issue now as well. This site is awesome because it took all of 30 seconds to search the issue and find the solution. Does anyone have the pin-out of the original switch to make putting the new one easier?

Thanks!

The image tabs on the Amazon page show it.  A further 30 seconds and you would have seen it, but I understand your excitement after finding it in the first 30 seconds!

He is asking about the pin out on the original Malibu switch, not the replacement.

Oh, sure!  Is that why he said "original?"  Let me get that second cup of coffee....

Either way, he's probably going to find a hot wire, a ground wire, and a third wire that trundles off elsewhere with power on it when the switch is on.

Bingo! The original wiring was the question. I know there will be a 12v constant, grd, switched in and switched out... but which one is which? I can figure it out with my meter but figured someone had that info.

Thanks again,

Mark

I get it, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't rely on free internet information without verifying it anyway.  If your meter is handy, it's your pal.
