High Fuel Pressure MIL

Recommended Posts

I took my 2019 A20 out for the first time since having it serviced by my dealer last year. I was getting nothing from the starter when turning the key. Found that the starter relay was corroded and bad. Replaced it and she fired up. Then, while riding, the boat died on me. Found that the fuel pump relay was also corroded and bad. Replaced it. After that the boat ran fine. Now I can’t get the MIL fault SPN 94 FMI 0 to clear. I’ve tried changing all of the fuses in the same fuse block as the relays. I’ve tried tons of ignitions cycles in my driveway with a fake a lake.  Diagnostic manual says this is for high fuel pressure. I’m assuming it had to do with the fuel pump cutting in and out when the bad relay was still in place. Any ideas? The fault goes away every time I shut the boat off but comes back in maybe 30 seconds after idling.

Hopefully someone else will chime in on this. I think the relay housing needs replaced as it will keep damaging relays because of poor contact with the relays.

Still under warranty?

Yep, still under warranty. It’s done this twice since I’ve owned it and both times were after an excessive amount of water getting in the motor area.

Why?

The first time was because a ballast tank cracked around the fitting and flooded the bilge. Second time was an unexpected rain storm out on the water. Pizza box wasn’t draining properly and filled up.

Oh boy.  Your steering cable may be next.  They don't like getting wet.
