Surf wave setup

Merk

Recommended Posts

Pickup our 2021 23LSV this week and started surfing. The wave isn't bad but feel it could be cleaner but could also be my lack of skill. I have all ballast tanks and PNP at 100.  I have the PW at 2 and trying speeds between 10.8-11.2. What is best setup for good beginner wave?

Thanks

Think about dropping your driver side rear ballast to about 75%(assuming a port wave).  Where you place passengers in the boat can also clean up the wave quite a bit.  i would recommend starting with just a little wedge and working your way up.  Moving some weight to the front can be effective as well.

Goofy surfs really well on these boats. The key is to balance forward and aft weight. Basically don't be afraid to have 150-200 pounds of weight (people or lead) in the bow. Because of prop rotation there isn't as much need to have more weight on Starboard side vs Port. I usually filled all ballast tanks full unless I had a heavier crew then I would do 75% in the rear. I usually surfed with wedge at 3 from lift and about 10.9-11.3 mph. I had the Pnp bags in my LSV.

I have lead on order. Should be here tomorrow. I agree it def needs bow weight and port weight. Right now, 11.3, 100% ballast and PW2 seems to give the longest wave. Hoping that lead will extend out and clean up the wash.
