Wet sound rev10 led install help

I bought the wet sound rgb ring kit and when I went to try and install them I ran into a bit of a problem. It seems to me that the previous owner or person who installed the speakers used glue to seat them into the housing. I can’t take the speaker out for the life of me. I’m just wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem and solved it or if someone can give me some pointers on how to solve it myself. I thought about maybe heating it up but don’t think it would be a good idea as the housing is made of plastic. I wouldn’t want to melt anything.

How many screws did you remove?  The manual talks about the 4 grill screws, but i had to remove an additional 4 screws to get my Rev 10 cans apart.

I was installing x mount speakers, and had to disassemble to properly attach to the tower.

FYI

I removed the 4 face plate screws and the 4 screws holding the speaker

Was able to get them off and installed but I was wondering if they updated the face plates? My speakers are about 4 years old and the Faceplate does not sit flush with the rings Like in the install video wet sound has on youtube was just wondering if there are new model faceplates that will sit flush

I believe they updated their speaker cans, at least that's what my stereo guy told me recently, that may be why yours aren't sitting correctly. He told me the new led rings wouldn't really fit my older cans.  The reason this came up was because I bought new opaque grills and they aren't as nice and aren't quite the right size compared to the originals I bought over 10 years ago.

Post a picture if you can.  If what my guy told me is correct, you may have to grind the rings a little to make them sit flush.

I ended up contacting wet sounds directly n they figured it out for me and sent me their newer style faceplate
