Gel Coat

Recommended Posts

Hello Crew,

I have a 2016 Malibu VLX with 200 hours on it. The gel coat has cracked for a second time and its bad this time around. Mailibu and the dealer said nothing they will do, says its not a structural issue so you are welcome to buy a new boat if you would like . They have not done any sort of inspection only a visual through photos from my local dealer. Does it make sense for the gel coat to crack from the bottom of the boat up to the rub rail all along the side ? They are almost eqaually spaced so it appears its a structural issue where the ribs of the frame are. There are 7 in total. I am just looking for opinions. I do not know how to post photos to this site.

How is the boat stored?

We're going to need to see those photos.

Watch this video; link starts at 0:12 and only watch to 1:04 mark.  From there, use the "Direct link" on the "Embeded codes" pulldown menu, or just click on the picture to make it bigger, then right click and select "Copy image link" and simply paste that here on your post reply.  Repeat for each picture.
