Heat Exchanger on 2015 LSV with LS3

Recommended Posts

Hello,

New to the inboard world. I have a bag of parts from the winterization back in October that the seller gave me. I put the plug in the V Drive, stern and under the center deck. I put the impeller housing cover with the silicone wrap on and reattached the hose hanging above the V Drive. The last part I have is a large black cap that should go on the heat exchanger.

Do you know where it might be? I cannot recall or find an engine diagram that shows the cap.

Thanks for your help!

You can't miss the heat exchanger.  It is the black tube with a radiator cap at the top.  I don't know why someone would leave it off instead of reinstalling it right away.  Check your coolant level to make sure that they didn't pull the wrong end and dump the coolant instead....

On second thought, having just bought a 2015 model, perhaps you should consider dumping and flushing the coolant since it is probably original.  While you have the other cap off, run a plastic rod through the flues to make sure they are all open.
