Need a little help please.

Our family bought a new to us 2014 Malibu MXZ with 311 hrs. It is a beautiful boat. We took it out for the 1st time yesterday and the middle screen is flickering and going in and out. I am pushing the gauges button and nothing. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thx! Matt

That year Malibu had a touchscreen that has seen a large percentage of failure.  No longer under warranty and replacement is to the tune of about $3000.

The bigger problem with the touchscreen (and the Malivuew for that matter) is delamination.  If I were buying a boat of that vintage I would budget replacing both (speaking from personal experience).  The Maliview screen cost me $2300 and the touchscreen was $1800.

I have seen other reports similar to what you are experiencing that didn't require replacement.  You might want to change the title of the thread to something more specific to this issue and maybe you will catch someone with that specific experience.

There is a small plug on the back of each bank of malivue dash buttons.  Unplug the connector, inspect the pins, and plug them back in if there are no obvious issues.  The screen uses a common RCA video cable.  Make sure the connection is clean and secure, or use another video cable to test or replace it.  The other end plugs into the blue viper control box.

Touch screen or upper non-touch screen?
