plumbing ballast

You could use one pump and use the existing hole where the T-handle drain is located under the Vdrive. Then just plump your sacks from there.

If your interested in balancing the flow to each sack you could stick some ball valves in the lines to the sack. The other thing you could do is use two 12V sprinkler zone valves to control the flow to each side. This is the method I will probably use and would be really simple to wire. Just connect the pump and zone valves negative leads together and then connect the pump positive lead to a pigtail. In the pigtail you will need to install a diode on each side and then wire the the switched power to one side of the pigtail and one of the zone valves. Repeat for the other side and you'll be all done with the inlet side.

As far as the outlet goes you could do this a lot of ways. You could buy a couple of pumps and leave them permanently attached to the bags. and then punch a hole on each side of the hull for the discharge fitting. This is by far the easiest.

Another option is to try and plumb the sack with a drain hose on the inside. Then you could use one pump and manifold both sacks together to get them emptied. I was going to run an experiment on this when I was home last but I never got the opportunity.

You could also use a self priming "simer" pump, I believe these are reversable and they would really simplify the plumbing aspects. However the pump is considerably more expensive than a standard pump. But depending on how many of the standard aerator pumps you buy and how much you invest in additional plumbing hardware and holes in the boat it might pay out to go with a Simer pump.
