Has the Flush Pro gotten better?

Recommended Posts

Hello Crew,

I'm trying to do away with the Fake a Lake and want to put a Flush Pro or homemade Flush Pro on my intake hose for easier winterization. Flush Pro has always seemed to have gotten poor reviews so unless it's been updated I'm on the fence.

Does anyone have any suggestions or input?

Thanks,

PTM

You have room in a Response to DIY a 2" PVC one-way and a tee for a flush input.  Run the flush hose to the transom and install a Mar-Pac stainless hose fitting near the lift eye.

I had a Flush-Pro in my '93 Echelon, I installed it '99 and never had problems with it. I just installed a new Flush-Pro in my '15 23 LSV. I've only done a recirculation winterization with the new unit, but it seems to work well so far. I saw most of the complaints were about the housing splitting apart, the new unit I received had a clamp around the two halves so it would be almost impossible for it to split.

This is the "old" version that I believe a lot of people may have had issues with, and what I had in my '93:

This is the "new" version, and what I installed in my '15:

Because of the comments online I'll be watching it closely. It's possible to build something similar, but make sure to get "full flow" fittings and to have a 1/4 turn valves on the lake water intake and garden hose input since I doubt you'll be putting in a check valve. Groco makes the "full flow" brass fittings I've see for sale.
