05 RLXI Heat exchanger maintenance

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Ive got a 2005 Response with a 383 hammerhead closed cooled.

can anybody point me in the right direction as to any maintenance I need to do to the heat exchanger other then change coolant?

Does the raw water tank need to be flushed out for buildup?

Thanks

You might consider pulling an endcap and verifying that you don't have any blocked flues.  If you do, a dowel or plastic rod will push the crud out (after you remove the other endcap).  Also remove and inspect any zinc anodes in the exchanger.

Yes, flush the overflow tank.  I would also flush the entire system before refilling the coolant.
