2021 VTX G5 Bimini

Hey out there. I’m stumped with how the bimini slides close enough to the tower to strap it. Manual says:   Slide the Bimini aft until it will not slide any further. It should be behind the tower.

I am unable to slide it within 12” of the tower.

Not sure about the G5 tower, but for ours, the slider bimini was very hard to slide when we first got it (and still is if it is twisted just slightly).  The trick I learned was not to push the bimini from the front, but instead grab the arms on the back side and pull them.  That was much easier to bring the bimini back to the stock location, and saved me the frustration of banging on the bimini to get it to move.

Thanks for the response. This bimini slides just fine. There is a plastic stopper riveted to the main supports which prevents it from sliding far enough aft to strap to the tower. I’m curious if this was an oversight for the G5 tower adaptation of the bimini or if the stoppers were installed incorrectly when produced. It’s a bummer because it seems like the bimini stored that far foreword of the tower is not sturdy enough to withstand significant or sustained towing. The over all design, ease of setup and storage is great. Much better than everything I read on previous models. But it’s definitely a miss on mine unless I’m missing something.
