Teak Swim Platform for Surfing, Sunscape LSV

I recently picked up an 04 Sunscape LSV that has a fiberglass swim platform. The platform on my VTX was 8-10" deeper, but tapered for the surfgates and I am assuming not to cut into the surf wave.

I am having Teak World Enterprises make me a platform, so the questions/comments.

1. I believe with the "stock" shape of the platform, I need to put blocks under the platform to raise it a bit so that it does not cut into the surf wave as much.

2. I chatted with Tommy (at Teak), and he said he would be able to modify the platform to be more of a trapezoid to be more similar to the current platforms. The brackets are pretty close to the "outside" edge of the platform, so it looks like the most I could come in off the sides of the rear would be 1-2". I am assuming that the juice would not be worth the squeeze.

Thanks!
