2017 Wakesetter 23LSV factory rack issue

So, I noticed at the end of last season my passenger side Malibu factory rack (non PTM clamping) would initially lock in place facing outwards, and then eventually work it’s way back facing into the boat.

I’ve inspected the pull release on the bottom of the rack and it seems to be engaging / disengaging whenever I pull down to rotate it from inside the boat (or parallel) to outside. I’m hoping a spring or pin may just be loose in the rack assembly and I don’t have a bigger issue... Has anyone dealt with a similar issue before, if so, what was the fix?

Thanks!

Clint

Is the black sleeve around the pin tight? Check that first as the pin might not be engaging all the way.

If it is not that, then the hole and or pin may be worn out and you may have to get replacement parts. Bakes may carry those parts.

@ahopkinsVTX I will check the black sleeve you’re talking about. I did keep two wakeboards on that side most of this season and occasionally ran in choppy water so maybe it’s wear and tear / something internal to the racks needs to be replaced.
