How would either a 2011/2012 Axis A20 with Salt Series Package or a 2010/2011 Axis A22 with Salt Series Package work in the Puget Sound

So in about 2 to 3 years my parents are thinking of moving up to the pacific Northwest and buying a house on the Puget Sound. They are inboard people and have a max price of 50000. Using NADA values the only things they would be able to afford is a 2011/2012 Axis A20 with Salt Series Package or a 2010/2011 Axis A22 with Salt Series Package. Any thoughts?

lift or trailer launch and retrieve?? if trailer, buy the most boat you can afford (non salt series) .  use the not galvanized trailer for the 3-5 years, maybe more, maybe much more.  upgrade the trailer later to galvanized.  you might be able to get a closed cooled system non salt and just do the maintenance ( @hawaiianstyln can provide you all the instructions and diagrams to install appropriate flush kits as well as other ideas) but probably not for $50000

if on a lift, do the boat maintenance and dont sweat the salt series , get as much boat as you can , di the maintenance and realize salt aint easy, but it’s super fun, i prefer brack marshes as they are far less of an issue to deal with, get a galvanized trailer and your good for mostly fresh brack water

On a buoy, if you are in the water all summer you will need to pull it once a month to clean all the growth off the bottom or you could bottom paint it.  Alternatively if you have a good snorkel mask swim underneath once a week and give the bottom a good wipe down so keep the growth off.

SeaBrite Polish with PTFE is a nice product to repel salt.  Get closed cooling for sure.  You will replace exhaust manifolds every 5 - 8 yrs.  If you have a CATS Manifolds that at least $1K per manifold.  If you have a SALT Series boat than you shouldn't have to worry about that as they are full loop closed cooling.

What you want to do is totally doable just takes more maintenance that's all.
