Difference between Power Wedge 2 & 3 for surf pipe

Hey Guys,

Curious to know the dimension differences (if any) between the power wedge 2 & 3? More specifically, I’m looking into factory surf pipe options for my 17 23LSV with the PW 2. 
 

To give more context, I’ve found the factory pipe option on Bakes for $1100 before taxes, which seems like a decent enough deal. However, they have a disclaimer that it will only fit with the Power Wedge 3, leading me to believe that Malibu must have changed the overall length or possibly the angle that the 3 is deploying at vs. the 2. If not, I would like to assume that this would fit with a PW 2 as well.

Specific to the surf pipe, the only real difference is how it is routed. On PWII, it’s going up and over the wedge. 100% affective, but it is pretty close to the back of the platform so could be kicked while swimming and or boarding. I would still 100% have it though. On PWIII it routes through the wedge assembly itself. So it is in front of the wedge. Same effectiveness, looks better IMO, and isn’t as high of risk of getting kicked. 
 

There are other differences on for the wedge itself too. PWIII is bigger, has more range into lift mode making it more effective and it has a different pivot point giving you a bit different range for setting ramp through vert. Gives the user a bit more settings to use to dial in their wake/wave IMO. 
 

That said, PWII is extremely good and effective. I wouldn’t hesitate to own a boat with one or a second.

@ahopkinsVTX Thank you. This is exactly what I needed to know. Shot in the dark here, but would you happen to have a line on the Malibu factory surf pipe manufacturer or options to get one outside of a dealer? FAE option excluded as I do not like their design.

Not sure who makes them to be honest. Best bet would be to buy one through the dealer or maybe www.bakesonline.com.
