Plastic/poly flat shims on swivel seat base

Recommended Posts

I am trying to replace the plastic flat shims that allow the swivel seat base to turn without metal to metal contact. I cannot find them on bakes or even a simple google search. Anyone else replace these. The seat base has a bunch of slop because the plastic shims are worn out. I tried attaching pictures but cannot find the option on the post. Sorry for the vague explanation.

I completely disassembled one recently that was quite wobbly and loose. I doubt it’s the shims. Have you taken yours apart? The 4 Allen head bolts going through the 4” round aluminum disc with nylock nuts (bottom photo) were the cause in my case. They were extremely loose. I replaced the nuts with new taller stainless ones and used loctite. Also found stripped carriage bolts on the slide rails. Replaced those as well with higher quality stainless bolts. Good as new now. Zero play and super smooth.
