Hi

Has anyone ever fixed a seam on a seat cushion coming undone? I have two seats coming apart, i know there is a more proper and expensive way to fix but im hoping to come up with a fairly practical way to fix it.

I talked to an upholstery person and said if i bring in some fabric they can try to seam them together, my question then becomes what material do i get, is there a color code or something that is a match or close match to what i have? i tired to add a pic but it wouldnt let me, the color is white, red seams, and gray.

thanks

On my 06, once I started having one seam come apart it was like in was an invitation for every other seam on the boat to come apart.  Not being the 1st owner of the boat, I believe the person before me used too harsh cleaner that deteriorated the stitching.  I had a few repaired at the shop, but eventually had to bite the bullet and have Gabriel start making new skins for the seats that were the worst.  Eventually had all seats redone.  I felt like the little repairs were throwing good money away.  Wish I had just put it towards new skins sooner.

While not the cheapest repair, you could get a new skin from Copycat Upholstery and it will likely be a very close match, if not a perfect match.  You can get a quote by sending photos and dimensions via email.  They were able to match the vinyl from my 2002 model.  I replaced the 2 aft corner seats and the lockers since they were coming apart, but the rest of the boat had good vinyl...this will get me by for a couple more seasons before I do a full swap of all the vinyl with a custom vinyl scheme.
