indmar etx cat replacement parts?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I pulled the hose off my etx cats today and discovered the catalytic material is in the port side but missing from the starboard side.  can you buy the catalytic piece to be inserted? or do you have to replace the entire manifold?  or leave alone as it was running just fine before noticing this?

thanks

so... before you go any further, you need to test that exhaust manifold to ensure there is no internal damage. This is my current situation, I have a dislodged cat and an internal crack in the exhaust manifold. From my understanding this is a common failure on the starboard side (mine is starboard as well).

I have not found a cartridge either btw.

My iron manifolds are near the end of their lifetime and I am looking for an ETX aluminum set.  I find myself wondering if I could get a set of blown out ETX manifolds and remove the rest of the cats and then use them.  Are these the same dimensions as the non-cat ETX manifolds?

I'm talking about picking up somebody's dead cat ones for the cost of shipping.  Schrödinger would be happy to give me his....

Anyway, stainless ones are ether more money or they aren't fully stainless.

did these motors not have the extra etx cat cooling line kits?  came standard i think 2011 or 12 forward designed to prevent this degradation and available as an add on to existing etx cats before these upgrade years

if you list to surf regular or goofy its pretty much mandatory on starboard to avoid the issue and port for listed goofy surfing
