Sunsetter VLX winterization

Recommended Posts

Sadly it’s that time of the year, woke up and it was below freezing for the first time this year.

I bought a sunsetter vlx a couple months ago with the 5.7l indmar 350. It’s got stock ballast in the center but no bags in the back (yet). Does anyone have a winterization checklist or a link to a forum post that would help me out?

Also, on my old boat there was a square plug I could pull right by the water pump where you could dump antifreeze in and it would fill the block. Then you could just remove hoses and fill the exhaust manifolds as well. Will this be the same process? I have a fake a lake system so I can suck the antifreeze up also, I just wasn’t sure if there was a thermostat that opened a valve to allow the fluid to enter the block or not...

anything helps! Thanks
