I have a engine miss, have checker everything you can think of. . My tachometer is not working has a bad MMDC so non of my gauges work. I was told by a guy that the tach  has to be working in order for it to communicate with the engine computer and this could be the cause of my prob elm.. Any thoughts? 2006 Response LXI Monson 340

Yeah, your guy is clueless.  At least he is as far as my 99 goes.  The tach was flaky for years and never caused a miss.  Something else is going on.
