Need sub amp recommendation for old boat

I am helping a friend with his 06 VLX stereo.  I gave him the sub from my 2020 MXZ that we want to hook up in his boat.

His current stereo is a Sony CDX-R5715X head unit that powers his boat cabin speakers.  The Sony has a sub preamp already hanging off the back. (2 RCA female connectors)

He is running a Wetsounds HTX-4 amp powering 2 tower speakers.  (No more RCA inputs available on the amp)

Basically I can plug in RCA cables into the Sony preamp sub out, but I need an inexpensive sub amp that can drive the Wetsounds Subwoofer that comes stock in the 2020 boats.  My understanding is that if we try to just plug the sub in directly it will fry his Sony headunit?  Is this correct?

Does anyone have a suggestion?

This looked decent...

Thanks in advance.

It will not fry the head unit, but 15 watts wont get you much bass., but thats only if one of the 4 chnls is not occupied by an in-boat speaker. That amp will work, but its half the wattage the woofer can handle, fyi.

Thanks for the info.  They aren't looking for the best setup, just a good quality at a budget friendly price so I think it will be perfect.

Thanks for the info.
