Fuel Inection replacement

Recommended Posts

in an automotive application, there is usually a couple bolts holding the fuel rails to the intake manifold.  once you pull those bolts, (assuming everything is out of the way), you usually pull up on the rail and the rail and injectors will pull out.  the injectors are typically (but not always) secured to the rail with clips.  Be sure to unplug the electrical connections at each injector before trying to remove the rail.  Also, its wise to use an air compressor and blow around each injector to clear any debris that might have settled around the base of the injector.  You dont want garbage falling in the intake path.  Lastly, make sure you de-pressurize the fuel line before removing anything.

On the monsoon, There are Two horizontal Allen screws under each rail. The Allen screws go thru a black metal spacer that you want to catch when you remove the screws. With the screws out, you can pull up on each rail and then reach under and pull the injector out of the intake manifold or down from the rail. Then disconnect the electric plug
