2021 T22 driveline

Looking for info and experience with a T22.  About to order one and really want to understand the driveline.  I've been told the gearing is the same at 1.76:1.  Given same gearing, what's the benefit of the M6?  I realize it's more powerful but if the M5 handles it, is there a benefit?  I test rode an M5 boat with a hi-torque prop, it pulled quite well with 4 people and the tanks loaded.  Thanks for any advice / input.

Yes, totally agree.  If the M5 moves it fine fully loaded, other than having additional power on hand, is there a real benefit to the M6?  It's a pricey upgrade, if needed, then great.  If there's little benefit, might be better to not spend the additional funds.  I initially thought the M6 would have a different gear ratio, turn less RPM's at speed and gain on the fuel efficiency side.  Given the same gears, I'm not sure there's a big gain.  Maybe someone has a T22 with an M6 or experience with both engines and can offer real world differences?

It depends on your expectations for performance. If you're planning on using just plug-n-play ballast and wedge, you'll be fine with the M5. If you want to run lots of extra weight, bigger sacs, lead, etc... then you might consider the M6.
