Do you know if the holes of the old locking wedge and the new floating wedge line up ? My old one bent and disappeared in the lake, I just got the new one and I am wondering the holes on the boat side line up ...

The holes for mounting to the transom?

Mine did, however...

I have a stepped hull and while the mounting holes were the same the position of them caused the bracket to sit too high into the step by about 1/2”. .    Not good.   I had to drill new holes with the same pattern into the 1/8” stainless to lower it.

So you drilled in the metal and kept the holes coming out of the transom intact ?

Yea.   I was afraid if I moved the holes in the transom the backing plate may interfere with something.    Plus I didn’t want to drill more holes in the transom.    Probably a wash either way as far as time and work involved.
