Ignition Control Module Installation Question

I have a 2002 Sunscape 23LSV with 475 hours on it. Since I crossed over 400 hours I've been various issues and have spent $1,000s replacing many parts.  The latest is that I keep burning through ignition control modules leaving me dead on the water.  A little unsettling.   On this forum I found suggestions that if you keep burning through them, you should replace the coil.  With all the things I had replaced the last 2 years, the coil was not one of them.  Had that done last week so hoping that was the root of my problem and I'll be fine going forward.

I went to purchase a spare ICM to keep on board and while reading reviews of various manufacturers found something interesting.  All instructions say to use the grease pack that comes with the module to dissipate the heat so they do not burn out.  That grease pack was used with each ICM I had installed, and subsequently burned up.  One reviewer said that grease pack is a dielectric grease which prevents corrosion and does NOT dissipate heat.  He says a thermal compound, for heat transfer is not something that comes with the ICM and needs to be added separately.

So while I hoped my new coil will prevent future issues, is this guy correct and I keep burning through ICMs because the grease is not dissipating the heat?  Do I use the dielectric grease and a thermal compound?  Seems like a lot of gweep to put on a small space.  I am more concerned with the heat than corrosion.

Bad grounds, especially involving the coil is also a culprit.
