2015 VTX Sub enclosure

I feel like I have read all the sub enclosure topics and was getting ready to get in to my own project... pulled the kickboard off and walla.... there is no sub enclosure around my sub. I have the factory rockford fosgate sub.... is that normal? Should be there be? Of course I literally get nothing out of my sub right now or minimal so anything would be better and I'm sure I'll just build an enclosure but wanted to ask if this sub "should have one"

Normal, but not ideal, the woofer is not a true infinite-baffle woofer, so its performance is compromised. Not to mention, the helm cavity will not even support an IB setup, as the false wall is open at the top.

Build a good sealed enclosure in the 1.0 ft3 range, and the woofer is night and day difference.
