Board value ?

Recommended Posts

Borrowed my buddies board and suck gate last Friday to try it out on my ‘01 vlx, no ballast and no one else in boat. Got a decent little wave that should be “surfable”. Mainly doing this to get my son behind the boat more. Looking for a single board for the boat that anyone could use. Read a few other posts and it sounds like the Hyperlite Broadcast would be a good place to start. They are $360 new and I found one 2 years old in good shape for $220. Seems like a fair price! You're going to have issues without ballast but it's still fun to play around with a rope for beginners.

How big is your son and what size is that board?

My son is 5’4” 110lbs. Board is 5’4”   I’ll probably be adding ballast if he wants to keep going with it. Here a pic of him. Wave was getting washed out with wife moving all around getting pics not understanding that affects the wave.

Cool! It's all about getting on the water.  That broadcast is a great "utility" board that will be good for beginners of all sizes. But.... Your son is going to be pretty light for it.

Check out a Connelly dash. They are made for riders up to 125lbs and are under $200.
