I am sure the depreciation will be in line with other SRT or Hellcat models.. which is a pretty steep curve.  I think there is always going to be more hesitation in picking up a 2nd hand 700+ blown petrol V8 vs a big oil burner.  Longevity plays in here a bit and the diesel is going to take abuse a bit better than the Hellcat motor.   You can view the steep deprecation two ways... one is that a 2 yr old TRX can be picked up for not that much coin :)

The point was more that it competes directly with the Raptor, which has diesel-like depreciation.  That's a big difference for a lot of buyers.

I'm sure it will sell some.  It could be better in nearly every way than the current Raptor but I will bet it still won't sell as well; the Ford truck name + resale being the two key factors.

Knowing your history of........dislike........ for Chrysler vehicles, I am assuming that you are alleging that the RAM 1500 has a higher deprecation rate, and that Ford is better here.  You're wrong on that.  

Here are the four highest-depreciating pickup trucks: a buyer’s advantage.

#4 - GMC Sierra 1500 - 5-year depreciation average, 43.0%

#3 - Ram Pickup 1500 - 5-year depreciation average, 45.2%

#2 - Nissan Titan - 5-year depreciation average, 45.9%

#1 - Ford F-150 - 5-year depreciation average, 46.5%

There really isn't much difference in the full size market.

You are right that the Raptor depreciates less (looks like about half as much).  It's much harder to find depreciation rates on Hellcats because there are now a number of models.  Will be interesting to see how that unfolds.  I do know that anecdotally, they have held their value well enough to keep me from getting into a Trackhawk.

You know what happens when you assume.  My statement has nothing to do with the resale of any other make being better/worse, other than diesels hold a better resale and Raptors seems to follow that trend.  I'm certainly not a Ford fanboy and don't even own one.  My dislike for other US FCA (well, soon to be Stellantis) vehicles isn't across the board.  I like specific models, but generally don't like their lineup as a whole.  Ram in particular, the interiors are utter garbage up until the current model, and they have some hard to look past issues in previous generations as well...which is a good reason why they tend to be the cheapest of the bunch to buy.

Ram figured that out in 2009.

My comment was a positive one, the new suspension should get rid of the axle wrap and hop that the raptor already had with substantially less hp than they are talking about for 2021

Google it, there are a bunch of good solution s out there specifically for the raptor.  Common issue when you put a ton of power into flexy leaf springs.  Happened in leaf spring lifted jeeps a lot, especially those with offset pins.

Boy, I guess I would have to google it, cause I’ve had 4 of them now.. I’ve had them in deep snow, mud hills ect, and have not experienced this. Mine goes off-road weekly at our farm and ranch. Don’t do much rock crawling though. Have not owned a better truck than these, and I was a Chevy guy for years. The rear end will walk out a little on shallow washboard gravel roads, but I haven’t owned a vehicle that doesn’t. I’m sure a set of deaver springs in the rear would cure that, but honestly it’s minor. Speed the truck up, and it goes away 😆

Little but disapointed they TRX is only rated for 8100:-/.  My Durango is rated at 8700... so silly that they didn't do a bit more on the TRX to retain a higher tow rating (which I am guess would just be a mode in the adjustable suspension to firm it up and lock out some of the sag.   The motor, tranny and chassis is certainly capable of more than 8100.

I bet that tow rating is with a weight distributing hitch, just like the Raptor. Sucks with a boat trailer with a folding tongue, and surge breaks.

According to this, it is a limitation of the receiver across all F150's, not Raptor specific.

At that horsepower level that engine would make insane amounts of cylinder heat with heavy loads. Also with pump gas the more load/heat it has put on it, the more timing the computer has to retard the timing to prevent detonation. Supercharged engines do make less power than turbo charged engines, but they also make less heat. Probably why Raptor will get a V8 to compete with TRX.

That's what he was referring to.  Unless you've had a dodge in the last 10 years, then you're right, you wouldn't have had a vehicle that didn't do that.
