Phase 5 MVP vs. Matrix

Hey there, 

I am stuck between buying the MVP or the MATRIX and was looking for some input. I know they are similar but have not seen may peoples opinion between the two. I would say I am a intermediate rider trying to take it to the next level and want something I can hold on to for a while.  

If i go with the Matrix, At 200lb should i go with the 53 or 56?

I just got the MVP. I am also an intermediate rider. I like it because a smaller board holds more weight. I am short so I can fit on a 50” board compared to most other boards that would would have me on a 53”. I also like the full pad on it. I have never been on a Matix but from what I saw on the descriptions on Phase 5’s site, the MVP seems a little more forgiving even though the MVP was is based off of the Matrix’s shape. The board definitely takes some getting used to. I have only rode one day, but so far I love it.

they are the same board in shape and everything except the mvp is a tad heavier and has the grab rail and traction all the way up. 

i think they ride almost the same. you wont be disappointed with either

 

i have both and love the feel of my matrix better 

at 200 id probably go 56  i ride the 53 and am 160lbs
