Battery Charging?

Recommended Posts

Hey gang, my boat has been sitting a while and I may need to charge the battery before my next lake day. It’s got a dual battery setup, how do I connect the battery to charge? Pic of the battery’s in question.

If no switch disconnect each battery and place them on a trickle charger for a few hours each.  Don't try to use jumper cables and "jump" start your boat, bad things happen.  Several friends have done this in a pinch and killed an amplifier or 2.

How long has the boat been sitting?

I had the summer run-up done to it early June.

Haven't been able to get out on it yet, but dragging it to the lake for summer vacation this coming weekend.

Then I would do as ZippyMbr suggests and disconnect the batteries if there is no switch and charge them one at a time.

Id there is no switch, then you have one large battery. If so, id leave them connected as one, since thats how they normally live. Let the charger charge them as they are.
