Trailer damage repair

Anyone ever had their trailer repaired? My brother's 25 LSV triple axle trailer while empty got clipped by a drunk driver pulling their trailer through the parking lot last weekend. What luck we were walking up to the truck when it happened, as this guy would have for sure drove off. It left a decent dent, through the powder coat, on the rear step where the break lights mount. He is having a hard time finding anyone that wants to try and fix it. Trailer places here in Kansas City say they don't really do repairs to boat trailers, and to powder coat it they want the whole trailer stripped. They say because they have to coat the whole thing or nothing. I guess the insurance will have to total it and order a new one? Sounds like it would be cheaper for the new one...

One word:  Insurance.  Sucks that someone's premiums will go up, but it is your insurance comany's issue to deal with.

Agreed. That one word, you speak, wants us to provide them with a quote to fix it.... and no one will give one.

Get Boatmate to quote you on a brand new trailer.  ;) WTH?  It is the adjuster's role to find quotes.  I think when presented with a 15K+ quote they will take an interest.  You deserve to be "made whole".
