Ballast pump

Recommended Posts

Any help with a ballast tank for a 2008 Malibu Wakesetter VLX? My tank on the left side will fill up but won’t drain? I can hear it running on the fill up but nothing happens when I push the drain button. Any help step by step is appreciated!

more than likely your drain pump has failed, new one linked above should be the replacement.  You will find it at the very rear of the boat, under a little box, or the rear floor lifts up after a couple screws come out. Finding the screws is the hard part.  There should also be a 5 amp blade style fuse under the dash for it.  that is going to be blown too.  We keep spares of both around, should be a 10 minute fix, after you figure it out the first time.

I've got a similiar issue on my 2011 VLX. The ballast tank will fill, but not drain. I located the pump and confirmed that it still works, but I don't have power to the pump. I looked and couldn't locate an additional fuse panel. Any suggestions?
