Diagnosing Engine Codes?

Recommended Posts

We have a 2005 VLX with Indmar 340 and have been getting the Check Engine alarm pretty frequently. Engine and transmission temp are fine as is oil pressure. I am getting two fault codes and am hoping for some help diagnosing. Using Rinda Codemate MEFI Reader I am getting these two codes.

  1. Oxygen Sensor Inactive-  Code 13-This engine does not have cats. I am not aware of an oxygen sensor on the exhaust side. Is there something I am missing here?
  2. Throttle Voltage Position Sensor Low- Code 22- I thought this was related to our perfect pass as recently the alarm seemed to be going off when perfect pass was in use but after clearing the codes I have gotten this code again and have not used the perfect pass. Any thoughts on what I need to be tracking down here?

Hope everyone had a great 4th! Thanks in advance!

If it says your TPS voltage is low, perhaps you have a bad connection or the sensor is disconnected.  Does your scan tool allow you to see the throttle position?  If so, slowly open the throttle to make sure the sensor tracks the lever.  If not, consider changing the sensor.
