Auto Set Wedge on older malibu boats

I know that the new malibu’s and Axis boats come with an auto set wedge, but if you were gutsy enough to cut a hole in the platform, would the older malibu’s be able to install one on there’s?

You are referring to the Power Wedge, right? You can install one but not sure if your boat would have the controller needed in the software.  I believe you could get a Power Wedge on an 07 so it might be possible to get there.

(BTW "Auto Wedge" is a feature of the power wedge that was added in 2009 with Malivue... simply moves the wedge back to neutral when you are stopped and then goes back to the set position once you get closer to your set speed.

I replaced the original style wedge with a floating/auto set wedge on an 02 XTI.    Not exactly a bolt on upgrade.    My old wedge got bent from a dead head so instead of replacing arms I ordered the wedge from bakes during a sale and the bracket from the dealer.   Had to re-drill mounting holes and add some brackets to secure it higher up as the transom angle didn’t allow the wedge to stow up out of the wake at speed.
