1994 sunsetter silent rider muffler replacement?

Recommended Posts

just blew the top off my silent rider muffler, I need to replace it. it is a direct drive boat. any suggestions on where to find a replacement that will work?

That may be hard to find.  Might consider replacing it with some straight 3 or 3.5" hard wall hose and some Eddie Marine slip-in silencers or some in-floor units.  That or find someone to re-glass yours.

The top piece blew off somewhat cleanly so gonna look at refiberglassing it ourselves. Any good threads on here converting it to straight pipes with the Eddie silencers?

Not sure, but it's super easy.  Just need to find a source for the exhaust hose you need.  Not sure if your boat uses 3 or 3.5" but my local dealer carries the stuff.  Behind the silencers, you can use soft wall hose.  Hard wall works best before.

here is what happened to mine. was timing the motor, had a backfire after some fuel built up and got a spark on adjustment then boom. im pretty confident the refiberglassing will do the trick.
