Did you verify that the wire is connected to the ecm?  Maybe the pin pushed out of the connector.

So after trouble shooting everything with my boat mechanic friend, we found that the knock sensor was bad and put the old one back in. The beeping is gone. The fuel pressure was bad so we have ordered a new fuel pump to see if that will correct the engine running like crap.
