M6di First Service Question

Recommended Posts

I have a 2020 Axis A22 with the M6di and the dealer came out for its first service since they highly suggest the dealer does the first service.  I thought they were supposed to "check things over" or something to make sure the engine is broken in properly and has a long life.  They came to my house so I was able to watch them do it and was a little surprised at how anti-climactic it was.

They just sucked the oil out of the dipstick (didn't use a drain tube) and filled with 8 quarts of mobile 1 5w30, changed the oil filter, then sucked out the transmission fluid and replaced with basic penzoil ATF (Yellow bottle that said for older ford/chevy/GM I beleive the Dexron III stuff). Then he just fired it up until it got to temp and was done.  I asked if they were supposed to check anything else like balancing or something and they said nope. Was I just duped into paying many hundreds of dollars for a basic oil change?  I'm worried they didn't do what they are supposed to do and want to make sure my engine was looked at properly.

Am I being paranoid or do they normally do something else?

Yup.  There's no magic to it.  Although when a new boat or car is under warranty I think it is a good idea to pay a reasonable premium to the dealer for service just to have someone to point a finger at if things go wrong.
