Lake water temp sensor?

Recommended Posts

18 LSV Lake water temp used to spot on. This year it is only correct while moving then sometimes erratic. I have seen it go from 45 deg to 90 degrees in 2 minutes. Any one else have one that works right? Also, why do they give you a correction offset for air temp but not water?

Wish they could get the easy stuff right for these prices.

Our our 2019 last year it was spot on, this year, not so much. It alternates between 88 and 90 all the time. Lake was no more than 78 this weekend.

Finely got a reply from my dealer. That alone took 3 calls and a week and a half. Said lake temp gauge is just an estimate if depth finder works they won't do anything about it! Mine worked great last year but this year I have seen it go from 45 Deg to 92 Deg in minutes. Sometimes creeps up 10 deg or more after stopping now, it didn't do that last year. I don't get the dealer mentality of Oh that's just how it is? Little frustrated here. My gauge on my 2012 VLX was and still is spot on. It's not a Bayliner!

Still trying to get this corrected. Dealer says it is the depth sensor / temp unit in the bilge. There is also a paddle wheel / temp sensor back there. Anyone know which one is actually sending the temp to dash? Think Bakes said Paddle wheel.

Mine use to be spot on. A few years ago I swapped the paddle wheel like they said and nothing changed. Air temp is always around 30 and the water is around 125 or so.

Disconnect one at a time until it zeros out (would assume no response would be a -- type reading or error)
